Witchspire Lore: The Eternal Ones & the Story So Far

3 Eternal Ones
6 Covens founded
EA Lore still unfolding
Quick Answer

Witchspire's story begins with the Eternal Three — Vyr, Om and Tol — the deities who birthed Magick itself. You arrive at Thornveil Academy, are guided by the spirit Cirrus through the "Dream Between Worlds," and join one of the six covens. Most lore is still being released, so much of the world is officially unwritten.

How much lore actually exists yet

Witchspire is in Early Access and its lore is being drip-fed through official "Lore Luminaria" releases. Only the first entry has been published, so a lot of the world — including four of the six coven founders — has no official name yet. This page sticks to what the developers have actually revealed; we don't invent the gaps.

The cosmology, in order

  1. 01

    Darkness

In the beginning there was only Darkness.

  2. 02

    The Stars

From the Darkness came the Stars.

  3. 03

    Starhaven

The Stars gave rise to Starhaven — the realm Om rules over.

  4. 04

    The Starkin

    From Starhaven came the Starkin.

  5. 05

    The worlds

And from there, the worlds were made — the stage your witch is born into.

Lore FAQ

Who are the Eternal Three?
They're the deities at the centre of Witchspire's lore: Vyr (the Bringer of Life and Protector of Mortals), Om (Keeper of Stars and Shepherd of Spirits, who rules Starhaven and judges the dead), and Tol (the Ruthless One, aspect of Time, whose visions are ill omens). Together they birthed Magick.
Who is Cirrus?
Cirrus is the guide spirit who onboards you at Thornveil Academy during the 'Dream Between Worlds' tutorial, teaching you gathering, crafting and bonding with familiars. Cirrus is your introduction to the world, not a deity — don't confuse Cirrus with the Eternal Three.
What is Thornveil Academy?
Thornveil Academy is where your witch begins: it's where you meet Cirrus, learn the basics in the "Dream Between Worlds," and choose your coven during character creation.
How was the world created in Witchspire?
The cosmology goes: Darkness first, then the Stars, then Starhaven, then the Starkin, and finally the worlds. The Eternal Three then birthed Magick.
Who founded the covens?
Only two founders are named in the lore so far: Principal Celesti Nov'aar (Nightscribes, tied to the Age of Rediscovery) and Malphasius Balam (Tomekeepers). The other four covens' founders are still unrevealed in Early Access.
Is the lore finished?
No. Witchspire is in Early Access and its lore is released gradually through "Lore Luminaria" entries — only the first has been published, so the story is still very much unfolding.
